Used Softgel Capsule Fillers

Softgel encapsulators form and fill soft gelatin capsules in a continuous rotary die process. Unlike hard gel capsules that use pre-formed two-piece shells, softgel machines create the capsule shell and fill it simultaneously by feeding liquid gelatin ribbons through counter-rotating dies while injecting the fill material. The resulting one-piece sealed capsules are then dried to achieve final product specifications.

Federal Equipment Company stocks used softgel encapsulation equipment from manufacturers including Technophar, GIC Engineering, CapPlus, and Bochang. Our inventory includes complete softgel production lines with encapsulators, gelatin melting systems, tumble dryers, and auxiliary equipment, rated up to 75,000 capsules per hour.

Softgel encapsulation machines use a rotary-die process to produce hermetically sealed, one-piece capsules. Two ribbons of warm gelatin film are fed between counter-rotating die rolls containing matching cavities. As the dies rotate together, fill material is injected between the ribbons just before the cavities meet, and the die pressure seals and cuts the capsules in one operation. The freshly formed capsules then pass through tumble dryers to remove moisture and achieve target shell hardness.

Softgel production requires supporting equipment beyond the encapsulator itself. Gelatin melting and transfer systems maintain the gelatin at precise temperature and viscosity for consistent ribbon formation. Product tanks with agitation and temperature control hold the fill material. Tumble dryers with heated air circulation cure the capsules over multiple stages. Complete production lines often include drying trays, racks, and additional curing equipment for extended drying periods.

Federal Equipment Company carries softgel encapsulators from Technophar (SGL and SGM series), GIC Engineering (Supra series), CapPlus/Cube (F-150G, S403), Bochang, and Hibar. Equipment ranges from compact systems producing 100,000 softgels per day to high-capacity lines capable of 60-75 million softgels per month. Many systems include complete auxiliary equipment such as gelatin melters, tumble dryers, product tanks, and multiple die roll sets. Our team can help identify complete turnkey solutions or individual components to match your production requirements.

Why Buy Used Softgel Equipment?

Used softgel encapsulation equipment offers significant value for manufacturers entering the softgel market or expanding existing capacity. Complete production lines represent substantial capital investment when purchased new; used equipment typically costs 40-60% less while providing equivalent production capability.

Softgel manufacturing requires specialized expertise and equipment that can have extended lead times when ordered new. Used equipment from Federal Equipment Company can ship within weeks, allowing faster production startup. Many systems include complete auxiliary equipment, multiple die sets, and spare parts that would require separate procurement with new equipment orders.

Federal Equipment Company can inspect and document softgel equipment condition prior to shipment. Our team can help identify complete systems or source individual components to match your production requirements.
